My Brain is Empty.

The semester is over. I've done my best in the circumstances in which I found myself this year.

It's been a long, weird journey - starting in the snow in February in Japan, through two jobs, packing up an apartment and life there, to friends' houses, hotels, airplanes, home in Brisbane after ten years, to school here.

Time to relax. ride. sleep.

Yes.

Letter from Japan.

So I get home from house sitting to find a wonderful present waiting for me, all the way from Osaka...

Inside was this:

Which is what Chris King should have been making years ago. This one is from my friend Aki. Smooooth...

Then there's this bit, the missing link for King headsets for all these years:

Which goes like this:

And installed on my happy bike:

Thank you Aki!

Halfway.

I've now completed eight of my fifteen days of teaching practicum. It's going well, really well. It seems that kids are kids, no matter where they live nor what combination of sounds they use to communicate. The experience I gained in Japan is proving to be of great use here, for which I am very thankful.

I feel lucky that I have finally found where I should be and what I should be doing. This is my place; I can excel here and make a difference.

Dollars I have not, yet I am a rich man.
